How Stress Can Impact Our Children

Just like adults, our kids experience stress and anxiety, too. It’s something we may not think twice about and some may even wonder, what do our kids have to be stressed about? Every day, children are pulled in many directions as they continuously navigate through life – juggling learning development and maintaining grades in school, sustaining friendships, and managing expectations from their parents, teachers, and coaches among many other experiences.

Although our children’s stress is worrisome, it’s part of normal life, even for children. However, combining these everyday stressors with the tense social and political climate surrounding them can bear a burden too heavy for the shoulders of a child. So, what can be done? Parents should learn which signs to watch for and monitor their children if they’re showing signs of stress and anxiety.
