Learning Disabilities

The U.S. Department of Education estimates that more than 13% of public education students aged 3 to 21 have some kind of learning disability and without recognition of the challenges those students are much less likely to succeed. Compared to other students, those with learning disabilities drop out of school almost three times as often. Learning disabilities don’t go away with age either.

In addition to the challenges of being an older student, learning disabilities can make lifelong learning, a must in today’s rapidly changing world, a near impossibility for some. Academic testing allows teachers, students, parents and counselors to understand just where the student’s strengths and weaknesses lie. Knowing then how the student best learns can guide teaching, studying and testing which makes success a real possibility. 13% of public education students aged 3 to 21 have some kind of learning disability.
